Neighbor across the street on North 16th St. in Nashville TN was Dorris - Steve & Stephen M. Dorris died april 29, 1991 at the age of 67. He was born September 15, 1923. The services were at 3PM on Wednesday, May 1, 1991. He was in state at the Bass funeral Home in Gordonsville Tennessee. Officiating the funeral services was Norman Slate of the Madison TN Church of Christ. The interment was at Union Hill Cemetery in Sykes, TN. 50th Wedding Anniversary Article in the Madison Church of Christ Marcher: Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Gatlin recently celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. They were married August 11, 1934. As a worker and booster of the Madison Church, Brother Gatlin is involved in helping with Sunday School attendance reports. he was baptized in 1948 by Brother Batsell Barrett Baxter at the Trinity Lane Church. Margaret was baptized in 1933 at Charlotte Avenue. The Gatlins were presented a beautifuyl Bible from the Madison church. We wish them great happiness in this delightful occasion, and many more years of joy together. Mother said a lady called her in 1994 to say that she went to elementary school with her at the "Buffalo" school. It was in the country, toward Pegram on Buffalo Rd. The schoolhouse isn't there anymore.
