    • 1870 Cenus said she can read and write Henderson County was formed in 1821 from Indian lands. The county seat is Lexington. Census Records: Microfilm records for 1830-1920 include Henderson County. They are indexed in statewide census indexes for 1830-1870 and microfilm indexes for 1880 and 1900-1920. Records for 1850 and 1870 are also published in book form.
